Meet the artist.
Ashley-Rae Kiaha’s love of art
began at the tender age of five, with the gentle press of her crayons that she
used to stay within the lines of her Precious Moments coloring book. As she
moved onto high school, her artwork began to evolve as well, incorporating
scrapbooking into her medium. Now as an adult she has expanded her work to
include various types of canvasses and inspirations as well as live art
exhibitions.
Ashley-Rae is a proud member of
the GorillaxMic team , a featured artist for Pentel and is the founder of A Raer Occasion. With limits past the sky Ashley-Rae continues to participate in numerous art shows and stays rooted to the community by sharing her talents in local events.
It is said, “If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
This rings true with any path that you have traveled, and it lives in the hands, heart, and soul of the ambitious, Ashley-Rae Kiaha.
At the age of twelve she began volunteering at an animal rescue shelter and discovered a desire and fulfillment to give back which then lead to her volunteering at a convalescent home. After her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Ashley-Rae dedicated herself to working closely with the patients of similar needs. As the people and experiences touched her, it was no surprise that she began to feel the responsibility of devoting her time and artistic view to begin taking steps towards the future.
Creating art allows me to escape captivity from the struggles of my own reality. Being able to focus in on what my hands and mind are able to compose allows me to breathe freely. Allowing myself to fully express my ideas and what I feel from within is quite a beautiful experience that I wish to share with the world. I have always believed that I chose this life for myself and I will die a satisfied soul to know all the lives that I have inspired through my journey. Cause I know in my heart that this is truly only the beginning. - Rae Kiaha
